I LOVE Dr. Carla and her staff! They make me feel welcome and take good care of me when I come for a check-up or grooming. Not long ago, I needed to have an operation. My human was very upset about this and cried a lot, but Dr. Carla calmed her right down, and treated me AND my human with VTLC (veterinary tender loving care)! I won' let my human take me anywhere else! Thanks, Lake City Animal Clinic!

A complete physical exam is recommended for your pet on a yearly or twice yearly basis. Many changes can occur from year to year, especially as your pet gets older. See Age Chart
We perform a wide range of both orthopedic and soft tissue surgery including routine and advanced procedures. We use the safest gas anesthesia available and tailor anesthetic and pain management protocols to each patient's needs.
We now offer the latest technology in health care for your pet. This FDA approved, deep-penetrating light allows relief of pain through the release of endorphins and stimulates the injured cells to heal at a faster rate. Disorders that respond to laser therapy include pain relief, would healing, arthritic conditions, intervertebral disc disease, pyotraumatic dermatitis (hot spots), post surgical pain relief, degenerative joint disease (arthritis), lick granulomas, degloving injuries, dermatological conditions, periodontal disease, gingivitis, otitis and more.
Allows us to do pre-surgical and emergency blood work and to get immediate results for a variety of tests including heartworm tests, internal parasite checks and urinalysis. For more advanced testing, twice daily pick up from an outside lab gives us most results within 24 hours.
Oral hygiene is as important for your pet as it is for you. A dental exam is included with every physical exam. When the time comes that your pet's teeth need to have a professional cleaning, we are able to do this with ultrasonic scaling followed by polishing. Though we must sometimes extract teeth that have root damage, we are often able to save teeth, with implantation of slow release antibiotics around the infected tooth roots.
Not all animals need all vaccinations yearly and some vaccines should be given every 6 months. We will determine what is best for your pet based on his / her lifestyle and risk of exposure.
End of Life Care
Whether because of illness or quality of life, making the decision to put your animal to sleep is one of the hardest you will do. We will be there to help you through this very difficult time. Giving your family member the best care possible throughout his/her life and then allowing them to leave without pain and with dignity is our mission. We understand the decision to euthanize includes great personal courage and sacrifice. We offer on-site cremation services so your pet's ashes may be returned to you in a box, an urn or a special container you may have. This allows you to keep the ashes, bury them or even scatter them in a special place.
